Jurist Han De Pei

I appears this scholar listened to Roscoe Pound's lectures at Harvard in 1942. I found this information from the University of Nanking
or Nanjing University. I do not know if this is where Pound was based in 1948 when he wrote the introduction to Chen's book, but it would not surprise me. Maybe Han De Pei facilitated Pound's journey to China. He is portrayed here as the Father of Environmental Law in China.

The connection between Pound and Pei could be linked to environmentalism as well. Pound is famous for receiving the first Ph.D. granted by the University of Nebraska. His dissertation is unique for being the first dissertation on ecology written in english.

Translated to English from Chinese here:
"In 1942 I transferred from Canada toward USA, continued to the Harvard University law school to conduct the research... In addition, I also listened to at that time several famous scholars' classes, if 格里斯 沃尔德 (Erwin N. Griswold)" international 私法 ", 赫德森 (Manley O. Hudeson)" public international law " and 庞德 (Roscoe Pound)" the jurisprudence ", all thought profited 不浅. I in this time, but also composed the international law private Faxin book review and discussed and introduced 庞德 the social law school of thought theory and 凯尔森 (Hane Kelsen) the pure legal science said the article, published the academic publication which distributed to Zhejiang University " thought and time " and other publications."
